Summer Program

good-times.png

The Arc of Katy Summer Day Program is open to individuals with intellectual and development disabilities who are at least 16 years of age and meet the program's minimum requirements.

We offer both in-person and an online program to include as many individuals as possible

In-Person Summer Day Program

The Arc of Katy is continuing to offer our in-person summer day program from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. Participants engage in a variety of activities at The Arc of Katy facility and on field trips to area parks and other interesting and entertaining area attractions. Each session will include a variety of fun activities such as excursions, crafts, life skills, games, and much more.  Participants must be current members of The Arc of Katy to participate. Participants will bring a snack and lunch most days and will receive an Arc of Katy

t-shirt.

Online Summer Day Program

In addition, we are offering online summer day program session on Tuesdays as an alternative and supplement to our in-person summer program. On days for which they are registered, participants in the online summer program engage with their peers via Zoom from their own homes in instructor-facilitated activities from 10 to 10:45 a.m. and 1 to 1:45 p.m.

Summer Sessions

Three sessions of the summer program are offered in 2023:

  • 2025 Summer Session 1: June 2 to June 27

  • 2025 Summer Session 2: June 30 to July 25

  • 2025 Summer Session 3: July 28 to August 15

Participants can register for one, two, or three sessions. Summer Program registrations are accepted on a first come, first registered basis. Participants can register to attend one or more days of each week of each session but are required to attend the same days each week of the same session.

Space is limited. Participants already enrolled in The Arc of Katy Day Program are provided an opportunity to be the first to register for the summer program. Because of our reduced facility capacity this year, it is unlikely that any participant will be able to attend more than one to a few days each week. Efforts will be made, however, to accommodate all interested individuals with an opportunity to attend.

Requirements and Registration

All participants in the in-person or online programs, must meet minimum requirements, be registered as members of The Arc of Katy, and complete and update annually all required program forms.
